Ouch

So sometime today or yesterday, 000WebHost decided to delete all my websites without warning. Ouch.

Luckily, I had a backup of most of the things. The pages themselves were completely safe, as Aptana automatically saves them to a local directory before uploading. Unfortunately, we lost a few things.

Most notably, we lost a blog post titled something along the lines of "A Post of Ones". My backup of the MySQL database maintaining this blog stopped at the post before that one. Google's cached copy of my site contained the two newest entries (on the home page). That unlucky one in the middle got lost. Very unfortunately. I might get around to rewriting it someday, but basically, it was the announcement of the Dots and Boxes game I made during finals back in January.

You might have also noticed that all the tags are gone from these blog posts. That's not so much something I lost as it is I just decided they were unnecessary and annoying to maintain so I got rid of the code that handled that. They're still there, commented out, so if I ever decide we need them back, I can reinstate them. I just don't plan on it, though, as they're kind of pointless.

Finally, my original website, All My Crap (the one I made in 4th grade) also got deleted. I don't know if I have a backup and, honestly, with school starting literally tomorrow (goodbye, summer), I'm not going to bother to check right now. Maybe one day.

On a unrelated note, at NCSSM's Summer Ventures summer camp this year, I wrote a research paper. It's about Calculus and I took pride in making it as boring as possible. If you're interested for some reason, it's here.

That's about it. Nothing really new is happening with the site right now and, honestly, with 6 APs and NCSSM Online for me to tackle Junior year, I don't see much progress getting made.

Signing off for who knows how long. Bye.
